Your MacBook will look inferior next week – Apple confirms a 'Scary Fast' update is coming

There’s another busy week ahead for Apple fans with the US technology company confirming that it will be holding a major launch next week and it’s definitely one to watch out for. The firm’s “Scary Fast” event will take place just before Halloween and it appears it will be all about the Mac.

Apple is always super secretive about its upcoming devices but the firm has teased its PC users with an animation of its famous logo that magically transforms into the iconic Mac smiling face.

We’ll have to wait until October 30 to find out full details but rumours are rife that the online showcase will reveal a new iMac and MacBook laptops.

These could all be powered by the latest M3 Apple silicon, also expected to be revealed at the event, which will help improve performance along with being far more efficient.

Along with new Macs, there’s also the possibility of a refreshed iPad lineup as well. It’s been over a year since some models got a reboot so it would make sense for something new to arrive in stores before Christmas.

Apple also unveiled a new Pencil stylus last week which is now cheaper than anything it’s launched before. That could also be a big hint that some more affordable tablets could be on their way.

Luckily there’s not long left until we find out more. The Apple “Scary Fast” event kicks off from 4pm Cupertino time.

That’s midnight in the UK so get plenty of coffee ready if you fancy tuning in.
