Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage and co-star reunite to walk miles on SAG-AFTRA picket line


Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage and Wallace Shawn have been walking the SAG-AFTRA picket line in New York this week.

The CBS sitcom’s teenage lead, 15, posted snaps of the pair attending the rally alongside union members on Instagram.

“Got some steps in this morning with my good friend Mr Wally Shawn,” he captioned the post.

Shawn, who portrays Dr John Sturgis in The Big Bang Theory prequel, beamed at the camera for the photo.

They were both decked out in SAG-AFTRA t-shirts and toted supportive signs.

The second picture in Armitage’s post confirmed he had walked an impressive 14,318 steps during their day on the picket line.

Wallace, known for The Princess Bride and voicing Rex in the Toy Story films, has starred in 46 episodes of Young Sheldon so far.

He’s also expected to return in the seventh season, which was confirmed with the show’s three-season renewal back in 2021.

However, with the writers and actors’ strikes both happening concurrently, the series might not make its fall 2023 premiere.

Armitage has previously shown support for the strike on social media, so it’s safe to say Young Sheldon’s most valuable cast member is prepared to go for as long as it takes to reach a fair deal.

When the strike was called on July 14, he immediately took to Instagram to in view of his 742,000 followers.

“See you on the lines, friends,” he wrote in the caption.

“Grateful to the terrific negotiators who are trying so hard but are also fighting hard for a fair deal.”
