Is there anything I can do to ease it?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>SHARON JOHNSON, Peterborough<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"read-more-container theme-money read-more-container--article-entry t-010-background-color\" data-widget-title=\"READ MORE FROM PAWS &amp; CLAWS\" data-widget-article-count=\"2\">\n<h2 class=\"read-more-container_title\">READ MORE FROM PAWS &amp; CLAWS<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Sean says:<\/strong> Many parrot species are highly social, and African greys especially so, living in great big flocks with high levels of communication between family members and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Of course when we decide to make pets of them and keep them alone in a small cage, they can experience very real emotional and psychological problems including separation anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>Feather plucking is a complex problem and can result from many causes, so a health check with a parrot specialist vet is a good first step.<\/p>\n<p>Then parrot company for Mikey might not be a bad idea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q) MY Miniature Schnauzer barks all the time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally, who is two years old, is adorable but it\u2019s getting worse. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She mainly does it in the garden and there\u2019s no rhyme nor reason to it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SARAH NEALE, Richmond, N Yorks<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sean says:<\/strong> This is the joy of solving canine behaviour \u201cproblems\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, they are often a totally natural behaviour for a dog, and only a problem for us.<\/p>\n<p>Remember Sally can hear (and smell) a lot better than us, so in this case she may be hearing a human several gardens over and feels it\u2019s her job to ward off a perceived intruder.<\/p>\n<p>Or she may be saying, \u201cHi\u201d to some of her pals, or telling a squirrel or fox she\u2019s going to get them.<\/p>\n<p>The underlying reason is going to be part of the solution though, so I would recommend enlisting the help of a qualified behaviourist to keep your neighbourly relations in order.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q) THE pump has broken in my garden pond and I have three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/22627763\/pet-goldfish-old-turned-grey\/\">goldfish<\/a> in it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019ve got a three-week wait until it\u2019s fixed. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I have plenty of oxygenating plants and it is large \u2014 3ft wide and 5ft deep.
