Will U.S.A. win FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023?


FIFA Women’s World Cup with its extended 32-team format will be kicked off on July 20. The first two matches will be played on the day of the inauguration in at Eden Park in Auckland and Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Australia and New Zealand are the co-hosts of the tournament. The month-long tournament will be held in ten stadiums of nine cities across the two countries. Sydney has two stadiums- the Sydney Football Stadium and Stadium Australia.

Australia will host matches in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth while Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, and Hamilton will host games in New Zealand. Reigning U.S.A. will take on ninth-placed Netherlands. Similarly, it will be interesting to watch the match between South America Champion Brazil and fifth-ranked France.

Three or four matches will be played every day till August 3. Each team will play three other teams in the group and the top two teams will move ahead. The top team of one group will meet the top second team of the other group. They will move to the knockout stage. The teams that lose in the knockout stage will go home.

The U.S.A. are the reigning champion and they have four times. If they win this time, it will be a record for any team. Germany won the tournament in 2007 and 2011, while Norway and Japan have once each.U.S.A. are the favorite, but they are suffering from the problem of injury as many of their players are down with injuries.

England are the European Champions ad they are one of the top contenders. But their striker Beth Mead, midfielder Fran Kirby and captain Leah Williamson will not play due to injuries.
