WILKO shoppers say they are “going to be lost” as the retailer closed its last remaining stores forever.
The discounter brought the shutters down on the final 41 stores on Sunday afternoon to mark the end of an era.

The high street discounter tumbled into administration on August 10 and gradually begun to shut down its stores.
On Sunday, October 8, 2023 the last remaining sites shut for good to completely wipe the face of Wilko from our high streets.
The stores that closed on Sunday for the final time were in the following locations:

Shoppers have been taking to social media to share their sadness at the loss of the much-loved retailer.
One person who commented on the Coventry closure said: “I will miss that shop the shop assistants were so helpful.”
Another shopper said: “So sad I’m going to be lost without Wilko’s my favourite shop.”
A third added: “What a great shame Wilko was always the first go-to place for anything.”
Wilko has been shutting its branches down since September 12, which began with the closures in Liverpool, Suffolk and Cardiff.
Thousands of workers have been left without jobs as the retailer was unable to find a buyer to take on the entire business.
Some Wilko stores have been snapped up by rival discounter B&M as part of a £13million deal.
Poundland also bought out 71 Wilko locations and has already started to open them up under its brand name.
Locations in Chepstow, Nottingham and South Wales have already reopened under the Poundland name.
However, all is not lost for the Wilko brand and customers will still be able to see it online.
The Range has bought up the brand and the website in a £5million deal.
A message on the Wilko website is promising customers that home delivery is “returning soon”.
It is believed that the website will reopen after all of the stores have closed down.
In other news, a discount brand name is disappearing from the high street forever after it was bought out by Home Bargains.
