When the trinity can, indeed, be Big Tech

A Big Tech veteran has the Big Idea. On the day Google‘s shares lost $100 billion in value after its rushed chatbot Bard got an answer wrong in its own ad, in a seemingly divine nudge – Maha Shivratri being just 10 days away – its former managing director wanted to bring the trinity to Silicon Valley. Parminder Singh tweeted that if Apple CEO Tim Cook is succeeded by a Shiv, a combo of the names of Microsoft-Apple-Google CEOs will reflect Satyam Shivam Sundaram, in a reference to Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai. In reply, a tweeter hinted at HCL Technologies founder Shiv Nadar for the job, and a Shivam wanted to know how to apply.

Singh would know, having worked for tech companies old and new, such as IBM, Apple, Google and Twitter. And, with the industry and its critical human resources bearing the brunt of a slowdown, they do need Lord Shiv’s intervention to banish the dark – metaphorical, not cyber – clouds. (Of course, Twitter is facing not man-made but one-god-made annihilation.) What better occasion than Maha Shivratri being celebrated tomorrow to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiv for all tech and techies that bring us digital nirvana every day. As for a Shiv replacing the lone Cook who may be spoiling the Apple broth and fulfilling Singh’s dream Satyam Shivam Sundaram, he has the support of 141 crore Indians.
