WhatsApp's Spyware Feud With NSO Sidestepped By Supreme Court – Bloomberg Law


The US Supreme Court is staying out of a legal feud between spyware maker NSO Group and Meta Platforms Inc. over surveillance technology that allegedly targeted WhatsApp users.

The justices on Monday rejected consideration of a lawsuit that asks whether NSO’s work for foreign governments makes the company immune from legal action in the US.

Israel-based NSO’s phone-hacking tool, known as Pegasus, has generated global controversy for giving governments spying powers. It allows users to covertly extract information from a mobile device.
