The inaugural edition of the ET Make in India MSME Regional Summits series, scheduled to be held at Ahmedabad on May 27, promises to bring together industry leaders, experts and stakeholders to promote, celebrate and strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector to build future-ready MSMEs.

The MSME regional summit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is set to commence with a special keynote address by R.D. Barhatt, the esteemed Joint Commissioner of Industries, at Government of Gujarat on the topic ‘Building future-ready MSMEs for India@100: Policies, schemes & initiatives to promote MSMEs in Gujarat.’

This will be followed by a series of talks, panel discussion and masterclass, all of which cover a wide range of topics of relevance to the MSME sector, including digital transformation of MSMEs, making them Industry 4.0-ready, strategies for building global competitiveness and tapping new market opportunities. The event will also showcase success stories of businesses that Make in India, Make for Globe.

The Ahmedabad edition of the ET Make in India MSME Regional Summit is brought to you by ET Digital initiative, in partnership with State Bank of India as Banking Partner, MCX as Awarness Partner, and Hotel Renaissance as Hospitality Partner. The Ahmedabad edition will be followed by on-ground summits in Chennai and Hyderabad in June and will culminate in the fifth edition of the ET MSME Day 2023 Virtual Conclave on June 27.

R.D. Barhatt, the esteemed Joint Commissioner of Industries, Government of Gujarat will deliver the opening keynote address on the theme of “Building future-ready MSMEs for India@100: Policies, schemes & initiatives to promote MSMEs in Gujarat”. During his address, the Joint Commissioner will share insights on the state and progress of the Gujarat MSME industry, highlighting key opportunities, challenges and milestones. He will also elaborate on Gujarat’s pivotal role as a major exporter, driving the momentum of Make in India; Make for Globe.

  • Interview on the growth mantra for MSMEs of today, the MNCs of tomorrow

Amit Kumar, Group CEO of Symphony Ltd. will be sharing his insights on the topic of ‘The growth mantra for MSMEs of today, the MNCs of tomorrow’ as he elaborates on the key factors that MSMEs need to focus on in order to grow and succeed. A passionate advocate for the growth of MSMEs, and committed to helping them succeed, Kumar will also talk about how MSMEs can overcome the challenges they face.

  • Talk on Strategies for MSMEs to identify the right markets for exports and growth

Jaimin Vasa, Former President of GCCI and President of Gujarat Chemical Association and Patron donor of AMA- Jaimin Vasa Center for MSME, will give a talk on the topic “Strategies for MSMEs to identify the right markets for exports and growth”. During his session, Vasa will share actionable ideas and insights on how MSMEs can pick the right markets to expand into, as well as navigate the complex landscape of international markets and build global competitiveness to achieve large-scale growth.

  • Panel discussion on ‘Make in India; Make for Globe’ theme

Speaking at a panel discussion on the theme of “Make in India; Make for Global: Enabling MSMEs to develop global competitiveness and tap new market opportunities” are experts and leaders from key MSME focused industry bodies and associations, including Mahendra Shah, National Chairman, CAIT; Rajiv Gandhi, Chairman, FICCI Gujarat State Council / CEO & MD, Hester Biosciences Limited; Vijay Mangukiya, Regional Chairman – Gujarat GJEPC/Partner, Dhani Jeweller; Paresh Kantilal Mehta, Regional Chairman (WR), FIEO; and Apurva Shah, Treasurer, GCCI.
