Along with India, Threads app was launched in more than 100 countries, including the United States, Canada and Australia. Threads app is currently unavailable in European Union countries.

What is Threads?

Threads is a platform that targets sharing via text, marking an evolution from Instagram’s classic image-centric interface. Threads are aimed at creators and everyday users alike, offering a fresh avenue for real-time public conversations.

How Threads is different from Twitter?

On Threads, you can create text-based posts with up to 500 characters as well as share photos and videos up to five minutes long. But on Twitter, posts with up to 240 characters is allowed, which was 140 characters earlier, along with accessibility to share photos and videos on the platform.

Sharing Multimedia Post

Threads allows you to share photos, videos and links too, which Twitter also allows to share. Thread allows users to share 10 items in one post, just like Instagram does. Whereas, Twitter only allows four multimedia items to be shared in a single post.

Threads has various advantages, as compared to its rival, Twitter. But it does lack on some grounds.

Where does Threads lack?

Threads lack in-app messaging, which its rival, Twitter had. It does not even allow anyone to search anything apart from username and accounts. Also, you can not change your username on Threads and if a user wants to change the username, one has to go on Instagram and then change username. With this, username will be changed on both the platforms.
