watchOS 9.6 comes with Bug Fixes and Security Improvements – YTECHB


Two months of testing finally come to an end. Apple has officially released watchOS 9.6 to the public. This new Apple Watch software comes alongside the latest updates for iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, macOS 13.5, and tvOS 16.6. If you own Apple Watch, then you can now upgrade your watch to the watchOS 9.6.

Apple pushes the new software to the watch with a 20U73 build number. For installation, the new software requires 244MB of data. The new software is out for all eligible models of Apple Watch running watchOS 9. As the new software is available to the public, anyone can install it for free from the system updates settings.

iPhone owners need to upgrade to iOS 16.6 before installing watchOS 9.6 on the Apple Watch. You can check the new software both on your Watch or on the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Here’s how you can upgrade your Apple Watch to the new watchOS 9.6.

  1. At first, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on My Watch.
  3. Then click on General > Software Update > Download and Install.
  4. Enter the password for confirmation.
  5. Tap on Agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Once done, tap on install.
