Warriors' Draymond Green gets technical foul immediately upon suspension return – New York Post

He just can’t help himself.

Draymond Green was notably suspended for Game 3 of the first-round Western Conference playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, at least in part due to stomping on Domantas Sabonis — though, his past behavior also had something to do with it.

For his Game 4 return, it was announced that Green would be coming off the bench.

He did, entering the game for Kevon Looney with 6:38 remaining in the first quarter.

Fifty-five seconds later, he earned a technical foul, arguing with De’Aaron Fox, who was also slapped with one as the two traded words that probably weren’t dinner plans for after the game.

Fox, a former guest of The “Draymond Green Show” podcast, didn’t appear discouraged by the verbal spat.

Green has a long history of getting technical fouls, including being suspended for a game against the Atlanta Hawks — which he served on March 17 — for accumulating 16 technical fouls during the 2022-23 regular season.

Draymond Green and De’Aaron Fox earned double technicals during the first quarter.

Per league rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended without pay for a game upon earning their 16th technical foul.

The rule also states that the player or coach will be automatically suspended another game without pay for every two technical fouls received during that regular season following the first 16.

Even without Green, the Warriors — a night-and-day better team at home than on the road — defeated the Kings, 114-97, in Game 3.

And in Game 4, the Warriors evened the series with a 126-125 victory, as Green scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out seven assists in 31 minutes off the bench.

Fox led the Kings with 38 points, shooting 14-for-31 from the field and 4-for-11 on 3-pointers.

The pair of teams will meet for a pivotal Game 5 on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center, where Sacramento won the first two games of the series.
