Waiting for Festivals

The utter pleasures of waiting for the festival season to unravel are a testament to the magic that fills the air during this time of year. Festivals, regardless of their religious significance, bring a sense of unity, joy and excitement that is truly unparalleled.

It’s like waiting to unwrap your gifts with each passing day. As the calendar inches closer to D-Day, the excitement builds, and the atmosphere becomes charged with a sense of celebration. It’s a time when families come together, friends reconnect and communities strengthen their bonds.

Then there is planning, decorating and preparing special dishes that will be savoured. Not to mention getting ready for parties.

The festival season allows us to momentarily escape from the rigours of daily life. Whether it’s the happy loudness of Durga Puja dhaks, the bright lights of Dussehra or warm glow of Diwali lights, the festival season engages all our senses, creating an immersive experience that is a delight to wait for.

Anticipating the festival season is having our hearts brim with hope, joy and abandon. It reminds us that, sometimes, the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.
