Vodafone, Flutter, lead FTSE 100 weekly winners; Barclays, Lloyds among losers




Investing.com – Here are this week’s top movers, a week in which the FTSE 100 closed up 1.5%:

Top FTSE 100 gainers

  • Vodafone Group PLC (LON:): The telecoms company gained 11.2% this week, after Liberty Global (NASDAQ:) took a 4.92% stake in the company.
  • Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:): The online gaming company gained 10.9% this week, as investors reacted positively to news that the company is considering a U.S. listing.
  • Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:): The soft drinks bottler rose 10.5% this week, after reporting better-than-expected operating profit in its Q4 results, which led to several sell-side price target hikes.
  • EasyJet PLC (LON:): The budget airline rose 9.1% this week, after Tui AG NA (ETR:) reported strong numbers, which boosted the travel sector as a whole.
  • Burberry Group PLC (LON:): The luxury fashion brand gained 7.3% this week, following strong results from Kering (LON:) (EPA:) and hopes for a recovery in China.

  • Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:): The financial services company lost 7% this week, following the release of its results.

  • NatWest Group PLC (LON:): The banking company lost 6.5% this week, amid worries that the UK government might divest its stake after the company’s strong performance.
  • Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:): The banking company lost 4.5% this week, dragged down by its peers.
  • Persimmon (LON:): The housebuilding company lost 3.7% this week, after DeutscheBank cut its rating of Persimmon to sell from hold.
