LEXINGTON, Ky. – With a capacity crowd expected inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center for the showdown between Kentucky and No. 9 Kansas this weekend, UK Athletics is issuing important reminders about ticket security for all fans.

UK Athletics urges fans to use caution against counterfeit and invalid tickets. Only tickets purchased directly through the following outlets are guaranteed to be valid:

UK Athletics cautions against purchasing tickets through other outlets that may be unable to provide this assurance. That risk is magnified for sold-out games like Saturday’s.

Financial and ticket scams are increasing in frequency. Scams are becoming more sophisticated and difficult to identify. UK Athletics is sharing the following tips to help fans remain safe and secure.

Be suspicious of anything unusual:

A deal that sounds too good to be true probably is.

Requests to send money via a third party (CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, etc.) or purchase gift cards in exchange for tickets are telltale signs of attempted fraud.

Requests for sensitive data such as your password, bank account numbers, or social security number are also red flags.

UK Athletics continuously strives to implement technological advances to provide fans with a ticketing experience that is convenient, safe and secure. To combat ticket fraud and counterfeiting, print-at-home (PDF) tickets have been discontinued at all UK Athletics venues. PDF and print-at-home tickets will not be accepted at any UK Athletics venue and will not be sold by any UK Athletics authorized seller. All UK Athletics tickets are barcoded and will be scanned for validity at the venue’s entrance. Admission will be denied for invalid and/or counterfeit tickets.

New this season, Kentucky AthleticsRupp Arena at Central Bank Center and Ticketmaster implemented SafeTix™ to ensure fans’ mobile tickets remain secure when attending Kentucky events beginning for 2023 winter sports, including all basketball games.

To help fight fraud, Ticketmaster launched SafeTix™, which uses an encrypted barcode that automatically refreshes every 15 seconds so the barcode cannot be stolen and used by another fan.

The only change for fans will be that screenshots of tickets will not be accepted on entry. Your mobile tickets will now show a unique barcode with a blue line running across it. This enhancement protects against tickets being screenshotted and tickets being sold multiple times by fraudulent resellers.

Ticketmaster is the home of the official and authorized resale platform for UK Athletics tickets, using barcode verification technology to ensure ticket authenticity. Resale tickets for the Kansas game may be purchased at this link.

Ticket holders should also be aware of the potential risks of posting pictures of their tickets. Avoid exposing personal information like your name, address or credit card information.

Mobile Ticket Reminders
UK Athletics tickets are now mobile for all home events! You’ll be able to avoid will call lines and waiting for tickets to arrive in the mail, enjoy quick and contactless entry into venues and easily access and transfer tickets to friends or family, all from your mobile device.

UK Athletics strongly encourages fans using mobile tickets to familiarize themselves with how to access their tickets prior to arrival at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. To expedite entry and avert the risk of mobile tickets not loading due to limited connectivity near the arena, add your mobile tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay account prior to arriving at the venue. Additionally, fans should ensure their phone is charged and screen brightness is turned all the way up when scanning into the venue.
