Believe it or not, a tiny ‘elf’ has been spotted in Antarctica on Google Earth.

The bizarre image appears to show a team of specialists working on Lautaro Island off Antarctica, accompanied by a tiny person wearing the same orange jumpsuit as some of the others.

The ‘elf’ was spotted (a long way from the North Pole) by UFO expert Scott C Waring.

He shared a video of the discovery on social media, where he has 163,000 and 73,000 followers respectively.

‘I found this on Google Earth and it’s a little odd and a little perplexing,’ said Mr Waring.

‘I found a tiny human being about seven inches tall in Antarctica.

‘The person is dressed like a team member in an orange jumpsuit, but what the team is doing and who they are I do not know.

‘The black boats with a round black insignia almost remind me of Navy seals, but the orange jumpsuits do not confirm that theory.

‘Legends of little people have existed for thousands of years from Ireland to Newfoundland.’

With no proof, he added: ‘For any story to last that long, there is always a grain of truth.

‘Alien beings could be any size, from thousands of metres tall to microscopic intelligent life.

‘The only limit is on our own knowledge, and that grows daily.’

Waring shared the Google Maps coordinates as: 64°49’18.09″S 63° 6’18.34″W.

One fan said: ‘The normal sized guy next to him is looking right at him.’

Another agreed it was an elf.

Not everyone was convinced however.

‘It’s a metal stake in the ground with orange on it to identify where it’s located,’ said one party-pooper.

Another fan wrote: ‘Yes, scientists do have a sense of humour, and, by Occam’s razor, that is the most likely explanation, seeing as this team must have been responsible for taking the Google imagery.’

Occam’s razor is the theory that the simplest explanation is preferable to the more complex.
