Transforming ecommerce: Shiprocket partners with Snowflake to give MSME sellers faster real-time insights



Shiprocket, India’s leading e-commerce and shipping enablement platform has partnered with Snowflake, a global AI data cloud company, to enhance data infrastructure for its 1.5 lakh merchants.

This strategic collaboration, the Gurugram-based company says, aims to streamline data operations, providing real-time insights and significantly reducing data processing times from days to minutes. The partnership will enable merchants to make data-driven decisions swiftly, optimise operations, and improve customer experiences. Additionally, Snowflake’s platform AI data cloud allows merchants to scale up their data infrastructure effortlessly.

Through this partnership, Shiprocket intends to leverage advanced AI applications to enhance user interaction and accessibility for its seller community spread across the nation. It will increase efficiency in their e-commerce endeavours.

Sunil Kumar, CTO, Shiprocket, envisions the partnership with Snowflake to have a “transformative effect” on their operations in 12-18 months. The partnership will substantially augment the company’s data processing capabilities, resulting in instantaneous insights and a drastic reduction in the duration of data processing.

“For instance, an MSME using Shiprocket will be able to quickly analyse sales trends and customer preferences, allowing them to adjust inventory and marketing strategies promptly. This immediate access to data ensures they can respond to market demands swiftly, optimising operations and enhancing customer satisfaction. Overall, this collaboration will empower all our sellers with the agility and intelligence needed to thrive in a competitive e-commerce landscape,” he adds.

Data, which has often been underutilised by small business owners, is a key driver here, he says, adding this partnership empowers 1.5 lakh merchants with quicker access to data, enabling them to make informed decisions swiftly.

“Merchants will benefit from real-time insights into sales trends, inventory levels and customer behaviour, which can optimise their supply chain, personalise marketing strategies. For example, understanding peak sales periods and customer preferences can help merchants adjust their inventory and marketing efforts accordingly, leading to better sales outcomes and customer satisfaction,” Goel adds.
