Microsoft has made billion-dollar investments in OpenAI. However, CNBC learned that the software company’s staff was prohibited from using ChatGPT, the startup’s most well-known application, for a limited period on Thursday. Microsoft announced on an internal website that “several AI tools are no longer available for employees to use due to security and data concerns.” Additionally, CNBC saw a screenshot demonstrating that corporate machines were unable to access ChatGPT. Requests for response from Microsoft and OpenAI representatives were not immediately answered.
According to the US Department of Justice, Apple Inc. will pay US$25 million to resolve allegations that it improperly gave preference to foreign workers for specific positions over US citizens and holders of green cards. The announcement was made on Thursday. In a statement, the Justice Department said that Apple had broken a federal statute that forbids discrimination based on citizenship by not hiring US citizens or permanent residents for positions that qualified for a federal program that allowed firms to sponsor foreign workers for green cards.

In the fiscal year 2022–2023, representatives from multiple cybercrime and law enforcement agencies received training in cryptocurrency forensics and investigation, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of India’s annual report. The MHA noted that 141 officers were trained in darknet and cryptocurrency investigations, as well as other workshops about digital footprints and obtaining information and proof from open source and social media, among other things, under the Narcotics Control Bureau, India’s central law enforcement and intelligence agency.
