Titanic, Avatar director James Cameron doubts over AI capacity to write good film script, backs human creativity

Avatar, Titanic director James Cameron has made it clear that he has no interest in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to craft a film script. During a recent interview with CTV News, the renowned Oscar-winning filmmaker expressed skepticism about AI bots’ ability to produce “a good story.”

Cameron voiced his doubts, saying script written by AI may not be able to move the audience. Cameron said one has to be human to write a film script. “I don’t know anyone that’s even thinking about having AI write a screenplay,” Cameron told CTV News.

Cameron said that one needs to wait for around 20 years, and “if an AI ever manages to win an Oscar for Best Screenplay, then perhaps it will be time to take their screenwriting abilities seriously.” For now, James Cameron remains firm in his belief that human creativity and emotions are essential ingredients in crafting impactful and memorable storytelling.

A few days back, James Cameron had denied rumours of him working on OceanGate film, as per reports. Cameron broke his silence on the rumours about him and wrote in his post on Instagram.
