After finishing with one of its best records in recent years, three Saranac Lake Placid girls lacrosse players were honored for the team’s efforts by being named to the league’s all-star teams.
Jordanna Samburgh and Addison Dann were named second-team All-Northern Athletic Conference, while an honorable mention went to Tyler Burth.
The SLP squad finished the year with a record of 9-7 — a three-win improvement over its record last season. A big part of the team’s success came from its defensive unit, which was led by Samburgh.
During the regular season, Samburgh helped her team limit their opponents to single-digit goals 11 times. The senior wrapped up her varsity lacrosse career by netting a goal in the team’s playoff loss to Massena.
Dann, a junior, led the team in assists with more than 20, while also reaching double-digit goals. Dann recorded a point in nearly every game this season, with one of her better performances coming against Canton when earned had helping had on all four of her team’s goals.
Only a freshman, Burth immediately became a pivotal part of SLP’s offense, finishing the season as the team’s leader in goals with more than 40. Burth played a big role in the team’s final home contest against Massena when she scored five goals en route to the team’s 9-5 win.
