WhatsApp users will have noticed quite a few changes to the service recently as it aims to enhance its offering as a messaging platform.

Recent innovations have included screen sharing between users, as well as the ability for people to send short video messages to one another.

Users are also now able to edit their messages for the first time, following a change to the service made back in May, as well as block individual chats via the ‘chat lock’ function.

And now there are even more changes coming our way – but what are the latest WhatsApp enhancements we can expect?

What are the latest changes to WhatsApp?

Group call scheduling

According to WABetainfo, WhatsApp is beta testing a feature which will allow users to set a time for their group calls.

Which means you’ll have no excuse for pretending you forgot those chats now – especially as the feature is also set up to remind you 15 minutes before the call is due to take place.

The scheduling function is currently available to a small number of users – and it’s set to be rolled out to more over the coming weeks.

AI stickers

When words aren’t quite enough to get your message across, you’ll soon be able to create your own AI-generated stickers to include in your WhatsApp chats.

The feature isn’t widely available yet, with reports that it is currently being beta tested among a select number of Android users – although it’s likely to be rolled out to more in the near future.

Those who have the feature on their WhatsApp will be able to generate their stickers via a ‘create’ button added to the existing sticker function.

Caption editing

The edit function has been a gamechanger on WhatsApp, allowing users to fix mistakes in messages they have already sent – but soon you’ll be able to do it on captions for pictures, videos and GIFs too.

You can find out whether it’s on your phone yet by holding down the caption box on an image or video you’ve sent to bring up a menu of options.

If ‘edit’ is on there then your Whatsapp has this feature – if not then keep your eyes peeled for it as it’s another one which is being rolled out gradually.
