These 8 equity mutual funds offered over 30% in three years

Equity mutual fund investors are busy counting the money they made from their investments in the last few years. No wonder, considering the key stock market benchmarks – S&P BSE Sensex -TRI and NSE Nifty 50 TRI – offered 11.04% and 10.89% respectively in this year so far. That’s what prompted ETMutualFunds to do some number crunching to find out the outstanding returns offered by equity mutual funds in the last three years. We found out that eight equity schemes have offered more than 30% in three years. ETMutualFunds calculated the daily rolling returns of 202 equity schemes that have completed three years of existence in the market.

These eight schemes were from the small cap, mid cap, and ELSS categories. Around six small cap schemes offered more than 30% in the three-year horizon. One mid cap and ELSS scheme also featured on the list. No schemes from the large cap, large & mid cap, multi cap, flexi cap, focused fund, value and contra fund categories succeeded in offering more than 30% returns in the three-year horizon.

Quant Small Cap Fund (earlier known as Quant Income Bond), the topper in the list, gave around 37.79% in three years. Canara Robeco Small Cap Fund and Bank of India Small Cap Fund gave 37.10% and 37.02% respectively. Edelweiss Small Cap Fund offered 33.74%. Bandhan Emerging Businesses Fund offered 32.46% in the three-year horizon. Tata Small Cap Fund gave 32.16% in the same time period.

Only one mid cap scheme, Union Midcap Fund, offered more than 30% in three years. The scheme offered 33.06%. The scheme is a relatively smaller scheme. It manages assets of Rs 816.49 crore.
