These 17 equity schemes never posted negative yearly returns in last 10 years

A bad year can make you poorer in the stock market. To make up for the losses, you need to earn very high returns. That’s why many investors prefer consistent performance over flashy shows. That’s why ETMutualFunds decided to look for equity schemes that have offered positive returns year after year in the last 10 years. Note, the market offered negative returns in some years in this period. The broader market offered negative returns only in 2015. However, key indices offered negative returns in several years in the last 10 years.

ETMutualFunds considered all equity and equity-oriented schemes such as large cap, mid cap, small cap, large & mid cap, multi cap, flexi cap, focused funds, aggressive hybrid funds, dynamic asset allocation/balanced advantage fund, and equity savings schemes. Though they are considered equity schemes for the purpose of taxation, we did not consider arbitrage funds for the study. We considered yearly returns starting from 2013 to 2022.

Six equity savings funds, five dynamic asset allocation/balanced advantage funds, two sectoral funds, one aggressive hybrid fund, ELSS, large cap fund, and multi cap fund made it to the list of equity schemes that never offered negative yearly returns in the last 10 years.

There were around 243 equity and equity-oriented schemes in the market. However, only 17 schemes managed offer positive returns every year in the last 10 years.

Note, this is not a recommendation. This idea behind this exercise, as explained in the beginning, was just to find equity schemes that have offered positive returns every year in the 10 years. This should not be the only criteria to choose schemes. You should always consider important factors such as goals, investment horizons, and risk appetite while choosing schemes to invest.
