Spy Images Show The Black Model 3 Highlander Prototype In Good Detail
The Model 3 Highlander was recently spotted in Palo Alto, California, giving us a detailed look at the upcoming refresh of the Model 3. Tesla is keeping the main areas of interest, such as the front and rear sections, under wraps with some black covers while the side profile remains exposed to the camera.
We can, however, see a slightly longer overhang for the Model 3, and a new crease has appeared from where the side camera housing is. This clearly runs through the front door panel of the Tesla to the back of the car.
Tesla Are Hiding Substantially Different Front And Rear Ends
The black wrapping on the Highlander is on both the front and rear ends, much like it has been in other recent sightings of the Model 3 on the highway. This suggests what we will see is something very different on the new Tesla, such as a revised front end with new headlights, a new bumper, and various other tweaks.
The back end is also set to see big changes such as a new rear diffuser and revised taillights. A couple of recent leaks have suggested these front and rear changes are incoming.
Project Highlander Is A Much-Needed Refresh For The Tesla Model 3
While it remains a core part of the Tesla lineup, the Model 3’s styling has become quite dated compared to other electric vehicles currently available. Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 have shown how radical electric vehicles can look, and sister brand Kia has done the same with the EV6 and the upcoming EV9 SUV.
The refresh for the Model 3 is long overdue, and it comes at a good time as Tesla is looking to enter its new era and slowly unveil its next generation of electric cars.
