WHILE most of us are still recovering from fabulous festive feasts, it’s time to start gearing up for the last party of the year.
If you’re hosting for New Year’s, both the booze and the party food needs to be top-notch but that doesn’t mean you need to break the bank.
Supermarkets are promoting bargain deals on party food already.
Best of all queues should have died down now that everyone has got their turkeys.
We’ve put together a list of some of the best party foods on the market to make your next supermarket shop a breeze.
Asda
Asda currently has a three-of-two deal on selected party food so you can choose your favourites.
If you’re looking to impress this year Asda is selling its Extra Special 12 Mini Quiche Canapés for a fiver.
Shoppers say they are lovely: “Lovely light and fluffy.”
You could pair them with Asda’s Extra Special 8 Tempura Tiger Prawns for £5.50 and the Build Your Own Festive Grazing Cones, for £6.
Both are a great way to get your guests involved and you will save £5 with the promotion.
Aldi
If you’re still into festive flavours Aldi has Specially Selected Chorizo Pigs In Blankets for £1.49 and it’s the perfect way to impress any meat lover.
Or if you have any vegetarian guests the Aldi Specially Selected Wensleydale & Cranberry Cracker is now reduced to £1.99 from £3.99.
Greggs fans will be pleased to know mini cheese & onion and steak bakes are down to 99p from £1.09.
Co-op
Co-Op has got any two for £2 deal on selected own-branded party snacks.
The selection includes Mozzarella sticks (£2.15), Vegetable spring rolls (£2.15), Tempura King prawns (£2.50), Onion bhajis (£2.50) and Nacho chill bean bites (£2.50).
You’ll need to be and Co-op member to nab these deals.
Or you can nab festive treats in the two for £5.50 deal, Co-op Somerset British Baking Camembert, £3.25 and a Co-op Melton Mowbray Pork Pie for £2.90.
Lidl
Lidl is inviting its customers to “schmooze” with its party food.
Shoppers can nab a Deluxe Christmas Pâté for £2.99 or two for £4. Choose from, Wild Boar and Cognac, Venison and Armagnac or Pheasant and Armagnac.
This would pair well with the Deluxe Mini Croques Monsieur selling online for £2.49.
The croques come in lush black truffle Becheml sauce and Comte cheese.
Morrisons
Morrisons has got some great deals on frozen party food this year, so you can plan ahead with no prep needed.
The Morrisons Cheese & Tomato Mini Pizza’s (£2.99) have received rave reviews online and they pair well with the Morrisons Apple Pie Bites (£2.49).
Both come under the Morrison’s any three for the price of two party deal just make sure you’ve got an oven to heat them up.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s has got tons of Taste the Difference New Year’s party deals.
You can get a third off on selected party food as long as you have a Nectar card.
So the Sainsbury’s Fish Pie Puffs will be £4 instead of £6 and the Mini Lamb Shawarma Flatbread are £4 instead of £6.
They also have an eat-on-the-day collection service, where you can pick up sandwiches, sushi and cakes made to order.
Prices may vary and stock may have limited availability closer to Jan 1.
Tesco
Supermarket giant Tesco also has deals on chilled party food.
Any three selected chilled party foods will scan at the tills for the price of two providing you have a Clubcard.
You can nab eight Chicken Tikka Samosas for £5.50 or 12 Cheddar Cheese & Onion Souflettes for £4.50.
Bear in mind prices may vary in-store compared to online.
If you are ordering online you will need to factory in a delivery charge though it may be cheaper to order party foods as part of a weekly shop.
Remember to compare prices across stores, just because an item is discounted doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
