  • The QRadar Suite’s sophisticated AI and automation capabilities are shown to speed alert triage by an average of 55%.

Telefónica Tech UK&I has partnered with IBM to integrate its new ‘QRadar’ Suite into the Security Operations Centre (SOC) managed services. This will enable Telefónica Tech’s SOC analyst teams to strengthen their capabilities in managed threat detection and response.

The IBM Security QRadar Suite, recently launched at the RSA Conference, will enable Telefónica Tech UK&I to leverage its Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)/Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response, (SOAR) and a new cloud-native log management capability. In addition, the suite’s common user interface, shared insights, and connected workflows allow expert analysts to work with greater speed, efficiency, and precision across core toolsets to offer an enhanced service to customers.

The QRadar Suite is built on an open architecture with easily integrated modules designed specifically for the demands of a hybrid cloud. It is embedded with enterprise-grade AI and automation capabilities that have been shown to speed alert investigation and triage by an average of 55% in the first year according to internal IBM analysis.

Additionally, the suite automatically contextualises and prioritises alerts, displays data in a visual format for rapid consumption, and provides shared insights and automated workflows between different products, reducing the number of steps and screens required to investigate and respond to threats.

This alliance is the spearhead of a broader and global cyber security partnership between IBM and Telefonica Tech, thanks to which both companies will deliver their managed security services using QRadar technology to their joint customers.

Peter Moorhead, CTO of Cyber Security at Telefónica Tech UK&I, commented: “Our partnership with IBM fuses our SOC capabilities with IBM’s technology prowess. This empowers us to deliver a level of comprehensive security that sets us apart from the competition. It’s an honour to be chosen as the first UK&I partner to launch and demo the QRadar service and it underscores our commitment to stay ahead of the curve in cyber security. It also helps further underline to our customers across the public and private sector that we are committed to securing their IT across Cloud, Data, Enterprise Applications, and Modern Workplace to provide the freedom to conduct business without worrying about cyber threats.”

Javier Valencia Chicote, Vice President IBM Security Sales EMEA, added: “We are proud to be a partner of Telefónica Tech, bringing the power of our QRadar Suite to its customers across the UK&I. Telefónica Tech has a trusted reputation of offering the best cyber security solutions to their customers, and in the face of a growing attack surface and shrinking attack timelines, the speed and efficiency that our platform provides are fundamental to the success of security teams. Coupling IBM’s technology excellence with Telefónica Tech’s SOC expertise makes perfect sense; it offers even more confidence to Telefónica Tech’s customers that they have the best line of defense against breaches.”
