State information technology officials said they were investigating the potential impact in Missouri after a network of cyber criminals launched a global attack on private entities and multiple state governments, including Illinois.
The FBI and Federal Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency attributed the attack last week to the clop ransomware gang, which exploited a vulnerability in a widely-used third-party transfer system called MoveIT.
Missouri officials say they identified any associations with the MoveIT system quickly.
The Office of Administration immediately launched an investigation to determine the extent of the attack and any state agencies and service vendors who might have been affected.
That investigation is still in the process.
The Office of Administration says they will make it public once any entities, individuals, or systems impacted are identified.
