BETHLEHEM, PA —The Virginia Tech volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-21, 27-25) over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks Thursday on the road at Grace Hall.
The win improved the Hokies’ record to 7-0 on the season, the best start to a season since the program began the 2018 season.
Ava Francis finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Hokies’ offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .28. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Elayna Duprey had 13 and Iliana Rodriguez had 12.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hokies won the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to secure the first set 25-18. Virginia Tech led by as many as seven points at 20-13 before closing out the set, totaling 15 kills along the way.
SET 2 | Virginia Tech continued to roll after a set one win by securing a 25-21 victory in set number two. The Hokies grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 in a set that had just one lead change before the Tech took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Virginia Tech then ended the match with a victory in set number three. The Hokies led from the first point on in the set to secure a 27-25 victory. Virginia Tech opened up as much as an eight point lead at 19-11 before closing out the set, totaling 17 kills along the way.
