Tax on gambling, it's outside theology



The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has uniformly taxed all forms of betting, with rates set at the highest permissible level to discourage such activity, with the added levying of income tax on winnings. By removing bans and surrogacy of certain forms of betting, the council’s approach confronts gaming platforms with an existential crisis that could pose threats to the industry.
