Tata Mutual Fund files draft documents for four ETFs



Tata Mutual Fund has filed draft documents for four ETFs: Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund, Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund, Tata Silver ETF Fund of Fund, and Tata Gold ETF Fund of Fund.

Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund

Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund will be an open-ended exchange traded fund replicating / tracking domestic price of Gold. The investment objective of the fund is to generate returns that are in line with the performance of physical gold in domestic prices, subject to tracking error.

The scheme will be benchmarked against the domestic price of gold.

The minimum application amount will be Rs 100 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter during NFO period. The creation unit size for the scheme shall be 10,50,000 units and in multiples thereof. The scheme will invest 95-100% in Gold (includes physical gold and other gold related instruments as permitted by SEBI from time to time), and 0-5% in debt and money market instruments including units of mutual funds.

Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund is a passively managed fund which will employ an investment approach designed to track the performance of domestic price of Gold.

Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund

Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund will be an open-ended exchange traded fund replicating / tracking domestic price of Silver. The investment objective of the fund is to generate returns that are in line with the performance of physical silver in domestic prices, subject to tracking error.The scheme will be benchmarked against the domestic price of silver. The creation unit size for the scheme shall be 3,00,000 units and in multiples thereof. The minimum application amount will be Rs 100 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter during NFO period.The scheme will invest 95-100% in silver (includes physical silver and other silver related instruments as permitted by SEBI from time to time), and 0-5% in debt and money market instruments including units of mutual funds. Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund is a passively managed fund which will employ an investment approach designed to track the performance of domestic price of Silver.

Tata Silver ETF Fund of Fund

Tata Silver ETF Fund of Fund will be an open-ended fund of fund scheme investing in Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund. The investment objective of the scheme is to seek to provide returns that are in line with returns provided by Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund.

The scheme will be benchmarked against the domestic price of silver. The minimum application amount will be Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter. The scheme will allocate 95-100% in units of Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund, 0-5% in debt and money market instruments including units of mutual funds.

Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund is a passively managed fund which will employ an investment approach designed to track the performance of domestic price of Silver.

Tata Gold ETF Fund of Fund

Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund will be an open-ended fund of fund scheme investing in Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund. The investment objective of the scheme is to seek to provide returns that are in line with returns provided by Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund.

The scheme will be benchmarked against the domestic price of gold.

The minimum application amount will be Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter. The repurchase / switches request can be made for a minimum of Rs 500 or 50 units or folio balance whichever is lower. The scheme will allocate 95-100% in units of Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund, and 0-5% in debt and money market instruments including units of mutual funds.

The scheme is a passively managed fund which will employ an investment approach designed to track the performance of domestic price of Gold.

These four ETFs will be managed by Tapan Patel. The principal invested in Tata Gold Exchange Traded Fund and Tata Gold ETF Fund of Fund will be at “high” risk according to the riskometer of the scheme. The principal invested in Tata Silver Exchange Traded Fund and Tata Silver ETF Fund of Fund will be at “very high” risk according to the riskometer of the schemes.
