Sunday Ann Zolko | News, Sports, Jobs – The Adirondack Daily Enterprise

Sunday Ann Zolko of Lake Placid, and more recently of Saranac Lake, passed away June 6, 2023.

Sunday was born in West Palm Beach, Florida in the Good Samaritan Hospital on Jan. 4, 1948, the daughter of the loving Arthur and Patricia (Dissington) Dick.

Sunday grew up in Lake Placid and was a graduate of Lake Placid High School. She was an honor student as well as the recipient of four citizenship awards during her early school years.

Sunday excelled in English Literature, French, Latin, Language Arts, Drama and public speaking contests. Chester McKirahan was her drama and speaker instructor in high school.

Sunday went on to graduate from Chamberlain College in Boston and Albany State University.

She enjoyed her classmates, friends and her years in education. Also, the outdoor opportunities this area provide us with skating, skiing, hiking and swimming.

She went on to teach in New York state schools in junior and senior high. General Brown was one of those schools. Later, she continued to teach in New York state where she taught GED classes. Sunday was an exceptional teacher to so many students. She inspired success in her students, whoever and wherever she taught.

As her brother, you couldn’t have had a greater sister as well as a sister in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior! God bless you all! In loving memory, TAD.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid. Relatives and friends are invited to share a memory at the service and also share memories and condolences on the funeral home website, www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com.
