Shares of Aurobindo Pharma(up 4.06 per cent), Laurus(up 3.77 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 2.52 per cent), Abbott India(up 2.23 per cent) and Granules India(up 1.9 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.4 per cent), Pfizer(down 0.35 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.34 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.3 per cent) and Sanofi India(down 0.22 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.72 per cent up at 13871.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 98.8 points at 19497.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 339.6 points at 65785.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Magson Retail & Dist, Essen Speciality Fil, Greenchef Appliances, AGC Networks and Ceat hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Rachana Infrastructu, Cell Point(India), Kshitij Polyline, Dangee Dums and Sheetal Cool hit their fresh 52-week lows.
