Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.9 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.89 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was 0.4 per cent at 23323.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 71.5 points at 24264.5, while the BSE Sensex was 261.62 points at 80422.83.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red. Shares of Vishal Mega Mart, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Sagility India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sambhaav Media, Bajaj Healthcare, Rudrabhishek Ent, Zinka Logistics Solu and EID Parry hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sanghi Ind, Odigma Consultancy, Spandana Sphoorty, Suraksha Diagnostic and PTC India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
