Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:29AM

KIOCL(up 2.24%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 2.14%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 1.40%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.39%), MOIL(up 0.96%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.87%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.28%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 0.10%) were among the top gainers.

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.28%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.65%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.59%), Coal India(down 0.45%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.38%) and NMDC Ltd.(down 0.09%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 18.25 points up at 19783.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 30.17 points at 65952.31 at around 10:29AM.

SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 4.58%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 3.37%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 2.8%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.86%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.71%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.61%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.55%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.43%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.35%) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.27%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, State Bank of India(down 3.13%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 2.65%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.88%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.88%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.64%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.55%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.47%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.46%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.39%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.39%) were trading in the red.
