Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls


NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.

National Fertilizer(up 6.31%), Madras Fertlizers(up 5.28%), Sikko Industries(up 4.98%), Aries Agro(up 2.31%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 2.21%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.57%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.85%) stood among the top gainers.

Bohra Industries(down 4.99%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers(down 2.40%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.83%), Agro Phos(down 1.72%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 1.70%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.44%), KRISHANA(down 1.42%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.34%), G S F C(down 1.02%) and Rama Phosphates(down 0.69%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 176.7 points down at 17412.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 671.15 points at 59135.13.

Tata Motors(up 0.84%), NTPC(up 0.72%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.7%), Britannia Industries(up 0.45%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.37%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.33%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.31%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.3%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.22%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 2.92%), HDFC Bank(down 2.58%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.28%), HDFC(down 2.18%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.14%), State Bank of India(down 2.07%), Axis Bank(down 1.83%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.75%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.72%) and Larsen & Toubro(down 1.61%) closed in the red.
