The Starfield player was complimented for their work, and their keen attention to detail with their credit stick designs, with some players asking if the sticks were for sale.
In Starfield, credits are a digital currency issued by the Galactic Banking Consortium or GalBank, that is universally accepted throughout the various star systems and planets. The currency can then be stored on credit sticks called “Credstiks” for short. These sticks are made from non-volatile graphite and look similar to a USB flash drive. Like most RPGs, Starfield players will spend and earn vast amounts of credits quickly. By completing various missions, joining a faction such as the Freestar Collective, or selling off some of the rarest resources in the game, players can amass a wealth of credits to suit their needs.
One Starfield player made a real-life batch of credstiks. On Reddit, a user named johnjoemcbob showed off their credstiks on the r/Starfield subreddit. While fans of Bethesda games such as Skyrim have 3D printed different objects before, the OP used their 3D printer and some trial-and-error to make some credstiks for their personal use. While some credstiks appeared thicker than the standard size, the OP managed to get the tuning just right and printed some blue and green credstiks. In the comments, the OP said they used gold, green, and pine green filaments to make them.
The OP then added that the Starfield credstiks would not be just for show. The sticks would be used as a way to track currencies in an upcoming tabletop RPG campaign that the OP would run in a West Marches style. Each stick would have NFC stickers that would connect to a local server that has the relevant information stored. For their effort, the OP received kudos from other r/Starfield users. Some Starfield fans said that they would buy the credstiks on eBay or Amazon if given the chance, and some added that they would modify the sticks to be used as USB flash drives.
Between the creativity of Starfield fans, and a future update that will bring Nvidia DLSS support to the game, Bethesda’s newest IP will not leave the spotlight anytime soon. Only time will tell what the future has in store for the spacefaring game.
