Ryujin Industries are one of the main factions players can choose to side with throughout the Settled Systems of Starfield. Based in the eccentric city of Neon on the planet Volii Alpha, Ryujin oversees a number of smaller companies and have a large influence over the security and commerce of the entire system. Since the faction is motivated almost entirely by the production of credits, it can be a great faction for players to join in order to reap huge financial rewards.
Having completed the quest “A New Narrative”, where players had to infiltrate the weapons manufacturer Laredo Firearms in Akila City, Imogen will then demand that the player travel to a new star system, only this time to retrieve a keycard rather than to plant incriminating documents.
(Optional) Wear A Suit or Security Uniform
As part of the mission, players will have the optional objective of retrieving a suit or security uniform in order to infiltrate the facility. Taking this step will make things considerably easier in the long-run, especially for players who are lacking a high sneak skill. Imogen suggests speaking to a vendor named Aito, located in the base of Ryujin Tower, who sells suits and Neuro-Amps – which may also come in handy for this mission.
Any suit will do, but players can consider this their official graduation into the ranks of a Ryujin Industry worker. Many of the available uniforms are in line with the Ryujin color scheme, so players should feel fully immersed in their new role as they carry out this mission. Buying a Neuro-Amp may also be a good idea here since they will need to persuade the security chief later in the mission.
HopeTech Facility
Having acquired the suit and Neuro-Amp (or possibly not), players must make their way to the factory settlement of HopeTown, located on the planet Polvo in the Valo star system, which is twinned with the star Narion on the main Galaxy Map. Upon landing in HopeTown, players must head through the entranceway to the large ship-building facilities located to the rear of the settlement. Once inside, they must make their way to the end of the facility towards the small security office on the ground floor.
For players who have either a suit or security uniform equipped, traveling through this area should be no problem at all, and nobody will stop to ask questions. Once inside the office, however, players will need to obtain the keycard from the possession of the HopeTown security chief.
Retrieving The Keycard
Players who have not equipped the suit will be asked to leave by the HopeTown Security Chief, so their best hope at attaining the keycard is to try to pickpocket it from him – or kill him and take it from his body, though this may cause some alarm among the other workers. For players with a suit equipped, it will be possible to confront the Chief and persuade him into handing the key over. It is not the easiest persuasion in the game by any means, so the Neuro-Amp and a few of the right drinks/medications before the encounter can certainly help improve the chances of a positive result.
If all persuasion attempts fail, players will have to pickpocket or kill the Chief to attain the card, though Imogen will deduct pay if there is a violent outcome. Once the card is secured, players can head directly back to Neon in order to hand it over to Imogen. Here, she will introduce the next mission in the faction questline: “Sowing Discord”.
