Spiritual science

The fundamental difference between art and science is that one is a movement towards finer sentiments and the other is a rational expression concerning each and every stage of cause and effect. What is art? You eat, dance, move, speak. If you do these in a fine and subtle style, this comes within the scope of art. And when you are doing something on a rational basis, on the basis of logic, and at the same time paying proper attention to the cause-and-effect theory, it is science.

In this world, everything comes within the scope of the cause-and-effect theory. Nothing here is non-causal. What a man sees or can perceive has some causal factor behind it. You see sugar. Now, what is the cause of sugar? The cause of sugar is sugarcane or sugar beet. Where sugarcane or sugar beet is the cause, sugar is the effect. Then, sugarcane or sugar beet is the effect, the seed is the cause. So, in all the spheres of life, there is a cause.

What is science? Science means ‘that which is based on rationality and pays proper attention to the cause-and-effect theory’. Two thousand years ago, one philosopher named Maharshi Kanada said, ‘Where there is no causal factor, there cannot be any effect of the cause.’ Spiritual practice comes within the scope of science. And the first scientist who invented this spiritual science was Shiv, who was born about seven thousand years ago. This is the reason spirituality is known as spiritual sciences.
