Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Z-Morh Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir on January 13, 2025. This 6.5km tunnel ensures seamless connectivity between Gagangir and Sonamarg, easing travel to Ladakh. Built at ₹2,400 crore, it offers all-weather access, bypassing avalanche-prone routes, and enhancing security for the region. The Z-Morh tunnel will be a two-lane bi-directional road tunnel between Gagangir and Sonamarg. The project will ensure safer and uninterrupted access to the strategically critical Ladakh region, bypassing landslide and avalanche routes. The tunnel will boost defense logistics, and drive economic growth and socio-cultural integration across J&K and Ladakh.
