Six-day warning for all Disney Plus members as prices set to rise – save yourself over £30 a year

You’ll have to pay more for your fix of Happily Ever Afters as Disney Plus will soon raise its prices.

If you’re planning on signing up – or you’re already a member whose subscription is up for renewal – you need to get it sorted no later than Halloween.

Otherwise you could be in for a scare of a different kind: an incoming price rise that could bump your costs up by as much as £36 a year.

What will the new price rise be – and when is it being introduced?

What are the new Disney Plus prices?

Currently Disney Plus subscribers pay £7.99 a month – or £79.90 annually, meaning you get 12 months for the price of 10.

However this is all set to change in the coming days – with the service introducing a Premium’ plan – which will cost £10.99 per month, or £109.90 if you pay annually.

That adds up to £36 a year extra if you pay monthly – and for those who pay their subscription yearly it’s a £30 rise.

However, the service plans to introduce a cheaper subscription worth £4.99 a month which will come with adverts, while the £7.99 standard plan will still exist – but you’ll only be able to watch on two devices at once if you stick with it, compared to the four devices you can watch on now.

If you want to keep watching on four different devices you’ll have to switch to the premium plan.

When are the Disney Plus prices changing?

The new plan is introduced from November 1 – so if you sign up after that point you’ll pay £10.99 to get the same services as you would in the current standard plan.

However, if you’re an existing customer who pays the standard plan monthly, it’ll automatically be increased to £10.99 from December 6 unless you switch to an annual subscription, switch to a different plan or cancel your subscription altogether.

If you stay on the plan at that rate you’ll be paying £131.88 a year for your Disney Plus viewing.

However if you take out an annual subscription before 11.59pm on October 31 you’ll get it at the current rate of £79.90 – that’s a whole year’s worth of viewing atover £50 less than you’ll pay on the new premium plan.

If you already pay monthly you can do this at any time – and you can also do the same if you currently don’t subscribe to Disney Plus and you’re thinking of signing up.

There’s currently no free trial period available for Disney Plus so if you take out a new subscription it will start straight away.

However if you’ve already taken out an annual subscription you won’t be able to do this unless it’s due to expire in the coming days – meaning you’ll have to pay the higher price when it does renew.
