'Simple' breakfast recipe 'packed with protein' helps man shed 4lbs in one week

Despite the summer season being long gone, many Brits are still determined to continue their weight loss journey.

It’s a well-known fact that shedding pounds can be a tough task, regardless of one’s diet or exercise regime. However, as one man has shown, success is achievable after he managed to lose 4lbs in just a week.

His secret? A consistent breakfast routine packed with protein and healthy fats. The TikTok user @ketorecipes, who boasts a following of 1.7 million, shared his tip with his audience.

He revealed: “I lost 4lbs last week eating pretty much this exact breakfast every day. It’s packed with protein and healthy fats so it keeps me full, super satisfied and it’s so good.”

In his viral recipe video, he starts with a base of cottage cheese, followed by medium boiled jammy eggs, cooked for eight and a half minutes.

He then adds slices of avocado and garnishes with coriander, red onion, chilli, lime, seasoning, and any preferred hot sauce.

While the rest of the recipe details were provided in his post’s caption, the revelation this breakfast helped him lose 4lbs in a week left viewers astounded.

The clip has garnered 283,000 likes and 1,800 comments since its online debut. One viewer commented: “Eggs in the morning keep you full all day.” While another praised: “Jammy eggs are really good.”

Here’s his complete recipe:

1. Start by preparing your medium boiled eggs. Heat a pot of water until it boils, then add eggs directly from the fridge and cook for exactly 8 minutes and 25 seconds. If you like a harder egg, let it cook for a few more seconds. For a softer, jammy texture, aim for around 7.5 minutes.

2. Select your favourite bowl and layer in one serving of cottage cheese. If you’re not keen on the curds, you can blend it until it’s smoother.

3. After taking your eggs out of the ice bath, peel off the shell, cut into your preferred shape and place on top.

4. Slice half an avocado (approximately 65g) and add it to the bowl.

5. Now it’s time to add some low-calorie, flavour-packed extras. I enjoy fresh coriander, some red onion, and a generous helping of truffle hot sauce. Feel free to add whatever you fancy – cucumbers, tomatoes, or jalapeños would also work well.

6. Finish off with a sprinkle of Chile lime seasoning and everything bagel seasoning.
