Should I continue to invest in Nippon India Small Cap Fund?

I have been investing in Nippon India Small Cap Fund – direct plan. I have been investing through SIPs for the last five years. Should I continue or withdraw?

You have not shared the reasons why you are thinking about redeeming your investments in Nippon India Small Cap Fund. Is it because of the recent volatility in the market or the modest returns offered by the scheme in the last one year? Since you have been investing for five years, you may know that volatility is part of investing, especially small cap segments. Regarding modest returns, you should know that the stock market does not offer steady returns every year. Some years it may offer very high returns and in some years it may offer poor returns. That is why we speak about average returns over a long period of time.

Nippon India Small Cap Fund is a steady performer. The scheme has been among the toppers in the small cap category in both short and long term.

You should ideally sell your equity mutual fund investments at least a couple of years before your financial goal. You should continue with your investments irrespective of the market conditions.
