SHOPPERS have gone wild after a retro biscuit “not seen in ages” was spotted back on the shelves at a second supermarket.
Farmfoods will start stocking Elkes Sports Shortcake biscuits for just 69p next week.
Fans of the buttery sport-themed biscuits were devastated when they disappeared from stores in 2022.
A kids’ favourite in the Eighties, the shortcake biscuits featured sports like cricket and cycling.
Biscuit fans were so upset they even started a petition named ‘Save the Fox’s Sports Biscuits!’ in a bid to get them back on shelves.
The biscuits were briefly spotted in Farmfoods last year in December for £1 a pack or two for £3 but they have still been hard to find.
But now they appear to be back once again, leaving those with a sweet-tooth ecstatic.
One Facebook user shared the offer after spotting the absolute bargain from Farmfoods.
Taking to the money-saving Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, he alerted fellow shoppers to the deal.
With a 200g packet available for just 69p, punters will need to be quick to get their hands on the biscuits.
There are over 330 Farmfoods nationwide and you can find your nearest branch using the store locator tool on the Farmfoods website.
One commented: “Used to be my fave back in the day, not seen them in ages.”
Another wrote: “Haven’t had sports for years!”
While a third said: “It’s a shame foxes have currently stopped making them, but I had the new company elkes and they taste the same!
“As soon as I got it I dunked 1/2 pack in tea!”
Elkes has held a historic place in the biscuit market for decades.
The brand opened more than 100 years ago in 1908 and produced the first-ever malt milk biscuit.
It comes after Aldi also returned the biscuit to their shelves for 79p a stack.
Aldi has confirmed you will be able to find the biscuits for 79p per 200g pack in stores from January 21.
If you can’t make it to an Aldi store you’ll need to turn to an online independent confectionary store.
Bear in mind that prices on these sites start from £1.49 and sometimes go up to a staggering £14.99 for one pack.
In other biscuit news, Fox’s has continued to keep shoppers on their toes bringing back several fan favourites over the past few months.
Last month shoppers flocked to get their hands on the limited-edition sticky toffee pudding Crunch creams that came back for Christmas.
The brand also made a huge change to its famous Party Rings offering a new choc mini flavour and fans said they couldn’t wait to give them a try.
But this comes after Fox’s confirmed it won’t bring back the discontinued and beloved Echo chocolate bar.
