ROWLEY, Mass.—Shooter Detection Systems (SDS), an Alarm.com company and provider of gunshot detection solutions, recently displayed its latest developments in Active Shooter Intelligence, along with several new product and business initiatives at the just completed ISC West 2023 show.
ISC West attendees that visited Shooter Detection Systems booth got a first-hand look at many of the company’s latest technologies that will be scheduled for release over the course of 2023.
“Shooter Detection Systems is poised for continued growth and innovation in 2023 with many new technology and business developments on the horizon” says Joe Byron, VP of Sales, Shooter Detection Systems.
“We never stop innovating to save lives threatened by gun violence, and we are excited to unveil new solutions and partnerships that speak directly to this commitment.”
Active Shooter Intelligence Designed for Improved Responder Awareness
One of its latest Active Shooter Intelligence developments that were demonstrated at the show is an advanced emergency response solution that is intended to enhance situational awareness for first responders during active shooter incidents. SDS boasts that this situational awareness solution goes beyond E911 by leveraging the Noonlight platform to expedite the continuous transmission of shot location information to law enforcement responding to the event.
The solution also enables the 911 call taker, responding officers, onsite security and building managers to communicate and share information in real-time and view critical contextual data, including the building, room, and floor location of gunshot events. Shooter Detection Systems emphasizes these new capabilities will be included with its standard software package for existing SDS software users.
SDS and Alarm.com also demonstrated, “SDS Powered by Alarm.com.” This new solution pairs the accuracy of the SDS indoor gunshot detection sensor with the fully integrated Alarm.com for Business platform.
“Introducing solutions to serve the small to mid-sized commercial market was important to our service providers,” comments James Reno, vice president of commercial sales for Alarm.com.
“Offering them the only unified cloud platform with shot detection enhances not only the capabilities of the Alarm.com platform, but it also gives our service providers the ability to offer broader, more comprehensive security solutions that help their customers address the changing landscape of modern-day threats.”
The company notes the “SDS Powered by Alarm.com” solution is currently in development and it will soon be released for beta testing.
Additional initiatives that were previewed at the show include the unveiling of the company’s new branding, as well as upcoming improvements to the business model that benefit SDS reseller partners, and the latest developments in total-building gunshot detection Active Shooter Intelligence solutions to include exterior perimeter protection.
