THIS is the shocking moment a huge snake was pulled from a car – after the driver spotted it handing out of the dashboard.
The delivery driver pulled over at a service station in Derbyshire after spotting the nasty surprise.
The motorist reported the stowaway to Linjoy Wildlife Sanctuary and Rescue on Wednesday morning, the BBC reported.
A volunteer from the sanctuary went to investigate after receiving the call.
Lindsay Newell, who runs the sanctuary, said the snake was now safe – although it was not happy about being moved.
It turned out to be a corn snake – and wasn’t venomous.
Lindsay said: “We thought it was going to be a case of grabbing it and getting it out but it had moved under the seat.
“Where the seat attaches to the frame of the vehicle there’s a hole and it had gone under there.
“We could only see its tail but couldn’t reach it.”
They removed the chair from the car and pulled up some of the flooring – only to make a shocking discovery.
It seemed as though the snake had vanished.
Lindsay went on: “We put a phone camera against the trim and we could just see its scales in the mid-section of the car.
“It wasn’t happy.
“At this point it was trying to get away – still trying to slither off to get further in.”
They finally managed to reach the snake’s head and get it out safely – but they were almost bitten in the process.
The car had to be put back together before the driver could continue his journey.
The motorist had been delivering the car from a dealership to its new owner in Leicestershire.
Lindsay explained: “Luckily the customer was very understanding.
I’m sure they wouldn’t want a snake with their purchase.

She said the snake was very cold but was doing well at the sanctuary.
It’s not the first time a driver has made an unlikely discovery in their vehicle.
