Sheriff's deputy shoots person at downtown St. Louis transportation hub – St. Louis Post-Dispatch


ST. LOUIS — A sheriff’s deputy shot a person Wednesday evening at a major transportation hub in downtown St. Louis. 

The man is in his 20s and was shot in the chest, according to a preliminary incident summary from St. Louis police. He was conscious and breathing.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available. 

The deputy was not injured. 

St. Louis police responded around 6:30 p.m. to the St. Louis Gateway Transportation Center, at 401 South 14th Street, for the shooting.

The facility, near Enterprise Center, serves as a regional hub for Amtrak, Greyhound and other forms of transportation.
