Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Monday's session


NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 240.36 points up at 62787.47 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Jonjua Overseas(down 11.64 per cent), Upasana Finance(down 9.94 per cent), Kaushalya Infra(down 9.64 per cent), Safa Systems & Tech(down 8.99 per cent) and Goel Food Products(down 7.98 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.

In the Nifty pack, 25 stocks closed in the green, while 24 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 59.75 points up at 18593.85.

On the BSE, Gilada Fin. & Inv., Blue Coast Hotel, Power & Instrument, MFS Intercorp and Abhishek Finance Co. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Hemant Surgical Industries Ltd., The Hi-Tech Gears, Anisha Impex, Mazagon Dock Ship and HIM Teknoforge touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
