MIDLAND, MI – The first day of the annual Northwood University International Auto Show may be over, but there are still two days left to go see hundreds of unique vehicles.

The 60th auto show will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Chase Southwick, Northwood freshman and BMW team captain, said his favorite part of the show so far was watching all of the vehicles be unloaded and set up in their booths.

As an automotive marketing and management major, he said he was in his element, but that doesn’t mean students in other majors are left out.

“Everybody at this school, no matter what their major is, you could be an accounting major or finance major, you don’t have to be into cars to do the auto show,” Southwick said. “It’s a great way to learn about business and networking and everything like that.”

The Northwood auto show is the largest outdoor student-run car show in North America.

One of the futuristic vehicles to see is the 2023 Lotus Morgan. It is technically classified as a motorcycle, according to Northwood freshman Chris Lengyel.

The auto show is a great thing for the community to check out, Lengyel said, as its packed full of new cars and great people.

“I’ve just always been into cars ever since I was a little kid,” Lengyel said.

Aside from browsing through all the cars, the auto show features signature events, sports games, interactive booths and the chance to meet with Northwood’s student volunteers who run it.
