Seattle Council District 3 candidate Hudson talks transportation, infrastructure – KOMO News

It was no surprise that Alex Hudson wanted to meet at a light rail station to talk about her run for City Council. As the former executive director of the Transportation Choices Coalition, she’s talked about transit for years.

“It’s an example of the kind of public infrastructure that I think is really important to build a great city that works for everybody,” said Hudson, at the entrance on Capitol Hill, which is part of the district she’s looking to represent at City Hall.

Hudson has made it a staple of her campaign, along with a pledge to bring down the temperature in District 3, which has been represented for a decade by Kshama Sawant. “I think it is really important is to recognize it’s your job to serve your constituents. I want to be a responsive, transparent, and accessible City Council person who cares about this district, I also want to be a collaborator.”

She talks about her positions on the drug possession law, homelessness, and public safety in a nearly 20-minute-long conversation with KOMO News Senior Reporter Chris Daniels.

You can watch the full interview above and on YouTube, where all the conversation with the Council candidates are available to view.

Election Day is Nov. 7.
