MWC 2023 and its potential vision of the consumer tech future is well underway; however, Samsung has decided to undercut all that hype with something practical for the here and now in the new Galaxy A14 4G. The smartphone may be the first of its line to debut without 5G in 2023; however, that does not mean it misses out on the same updated look of its closest sibling.
In fact, the A14 4G has virtually the exact same “sleek, fundamental design” as the 5G model. The 2 devices even seem to share the same screen, with its 13MP selfie notch to boot, although there is no mention of a 90Hz refresh rate in the newer version.
Oddly, it may also have the better triple rear cameras of the 2; while the A14 5G is saddled with dual 2MP shooters, the 4G gets the same main 50MP shooter with a 5MP ultrawide-angle lens – then again, the 2MP macro module persists here.
The A14 owes its 4G/LTE-only connectivity to a octa-core 2GHz SoC that has remained nameless at the smartphone’s launch, with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage running One UI (version also not given).
The Samsung Galaxy A14 may thus go for an attractive price; then again, it has not been set at the time of writing, and may only be available offline on its release to the Malaysian market.
Word on more global availability for the A14 4G is also yet to be forthcoming, although its A13 predecessor can now be found well discounted on Amazon.com.
I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
