Samsung faces dilemma on tough U.S. chip subsidy rules – Nikkei Asia


SEOUL — For Samsung Electronics, taking the Biden administration’s offer subsidies for building a U.S. chip plant is no easy choice.

That is because the aid comes with strings attached, including a rule that recipients share “excess profits” with the U.S. government.
